Boys – Dreaming the Men of the Future

In a world that often tells boys to be strong, silent, and stoic, Boys – Dreaming the Men of the Future gives them permission to feel. This feature-length documentary listens closely to boys aged 13 to 17 – as well as to girls, mothers, and fathers – to understand what it means to grow up male today.

Filmed across Brazil, the story follows a group of teenagers on a transformative camping trip deep in nature. Away from screens and city noise, they face their own silences. Through conversations around the campfire, laughter, and tears, they begin to uncover the emotional walls built around them – walls that protect, but also isolate.

The film reveals how anger has become one of the few emotions boys are allowed to express, and how the inability to show vulnerability has shaped generations. But within this group, a new narrative begins to form: one of empathy, connection, and emotional courage.

A co-production with the Global Compact, PDH, and Natura, this project is both intimate and universal – a mirror to societies everywhere asking how we raise the men of tomorrow. Boys is set for release in July 2025.
