Helena is a biologist who discovered her true calling in the ocean during her PhD. Over nearly two decades, she has dedicated her career to applied conservation research, working on projects ranging from microbial solutions for coastal oil pollution to biofuel development and coral reef restoration strategies – always guided by the conviction that science should serve both people and the planet.

Today, she works as an Impact Partner at a research institution, supporting scientists and leadership in turning research into real-world solutions, strengthening pathways to impact, and clearly communicating the impact stories to local and global audiences.

As a scientific diver, freediver, underwater photographer, and filmmaker, Helena uses her lens to bring ocean stories to life – sparking understanding, emotion, and care.

At Bravo Impact, she uses her scientific background, science communication experience, impact strategist expertise, and filmmaker skills to help shape films and projects that move hearts, shift narratives, and drive real change in the world.
